PASE GUIADO - Tossal Manises.

The Tossal de Manises is the site of the Roman city of Lucentum, ancient Alicante, likely developed from an Iberian settlement located at the summit. It is situated atop a hill (tossal) by the sea, reaching 38 meters in height, 3.5 km from the center of the modern city, in the neighborhood of La Albufereta. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Valencian Community, one of the few Roman cities known in depth, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1961. Today, it preserves intact the entire urban area (around 25,000 m²), enclosed by a wall with a perimeter of approximately 600 meters. The settlement's origins on the hill date back, based on discovered materials, to the late 5th century or early 4th century BC, although little is known about this initial phase of occupation, which is dubiously linked only to scarce architectural remains.
